Memorial day

Holy crap, this past year has flown by! Well, mostly. At this time last year, she was a cute little newborn lump, like so:















And today, she is a full-grown toddler of 1, who is partial to the outdoors and cupcakes and polka dots, not to mention cats and babies and milk and bananas and computers and phones and most everyone she meets.

We like her more every day, and have decided to keep her, at least for another year.

Here she is at her party yesterday. We had some friends over to celebrate Leah + our new home. The weather inspired us to buy an air conditioner immediately afterwards +the fancy ($9!) new kiddie pool sprang a few leaks, but otherwise it was a very nice time. Much better than the time we were having last year. Ouch.



Right now she is asleep on her father's chest while we sit on our summer porch. We had a late dinner at our newly-opened local diner and then opened cards + gifts, which she very happily played with until she fell asleep.
