A farewell to 2006

This is a long one... grab a cup of coffee first!

Christmas this year was a down-home affair. At (and near) OUR home!

Christmas Eve saw us at Rob's grandparents' (Clair + Leah) home at the edge of central Jersey (I think - still not up on my NJ geography) near Easton, PA. (His family just calls it "The Mountain".) The highlight, other than the company (which included Rob's aunt Marya + uncle George + grandparents + parents), was the gift of a tricycle to Leah from her great-grandparents. Which was a big hit, and provided entertainment for all.

That night, "Santa" visited Eder Terrace for the first time since we made it our home. The best part for us was watching Leah's face while we came downstairs + she noticed what was under and around the tree. We opened our stockings, then waited for Rob's parents to arrive for coffee, cinnamon buns + presents! Such fun. Leah quickly got the hang of opening and playing with everything in sight.

Next we all took a quick car trip to Rob's uncle Tom + wife Mary Ann's house for Christmas dinner, where we also saw cousins Meredith + Jack and Rob's uncle George + aunt Olga. And some cats, which immediately made Leah happy. I thought the girl would have been burned out from the night before + our exciting morning, but she handled the holiday chaos with style - better than I did, in fact.

As the year draws to a close, Rob is upstairs nursing a sore back from the bathroom window he installed this weekend (with help from friend Rich), and Leah is watching Teletubbies while I try to finish this entry. No big plans for the evening, other than a quick (ha!) trip to the grocery store and time at home.

A very happy new year to everyone! Enjoy some pictures from the past month over to yer right -->
