Gone fishing

Yes, I am still alive. Just more into enjoying the summer + less into posting! Here are some random updates:

Two weekends ago we went up north to Massachusetts for my mom's surprise retirement party. [I do have pictures somewhere + will post later.] We also celebrated Father's Day with my dad + the other men in my life. My mom was happily surprised, the cousins got to play, there was cake, a hammock, and whiffle ball. It was a very nice time!

This past weekend was full of backyard activities - ours + our friends'. Ours was full of the wrong mulch (which we kept anyway... who wants to lug 30 bags of mulch back to Home Depot when it can be used on other parts of the yard?) + our friends' was full of toddler play gear + delicious grilled food.

Leah is growing by leaps and bounds, fully enjoying all the activities summer has to offer. Yesterday morning we went to the zoo, where she got to visit her favorite animals in the barn and ride the train. Later in the day, she took a dip in her little pool and maintained her dislike of strange surfaces (sand, and in this case, grass) on her bare feet.
