Leah did well through setup and craft time, became a bit distracted during circle time (listening to Ms. Robbie read a Clifford book, on her own rectangle of carpet), and broke down after having a ball snatched away from her on the way outside. (I was overwhelmed, too, with so many little people around.) Once outside, she did some somersaults on the croquet lawn(!) and ran off to do some exploring around the gorgeous retirement property.
And then she was warmed up + ready for preschool! Unfortunately for her, it was time to go back inside + say goodbye. Good thing a normal day will be at least twice as long.
At home we talked about Ms. Robbie and the other kids, read a story while sitting on the floor, and (coincidentally?) ate lunch at the table using a placemat - instead of the regular tray! Now she's napping and I could use one, too. The girl may have butterflies on her new backpack, but there are still some floating around in my stomach. They ask, "Is Leah ready for this? Am I?"
We shall see...
