Picking the right one

I do not remember ever visiting a pumpkin patch when I was younger, but it has become the thing to do these days. Perhaps because it's such a novelty to see something plucked from right where it grows, rather than its shelf in a Wal-Mart.

At any rate, this year's pumpkin picking expedition was a success. We arrived early to meet up with some of Leah's gang, and went about the business of enjoying our kids + the warm fall weather while choosing the best pumpkins to tote back to the homestead.
