Bad Santa

As we were walking down the street of a neighboring town early this afternoon, a Very Friendly woman noticed Leah wasn't wearing her coat as she danced about, looking at all the people and holiday decorations. Her father + I had, in fact, tried to convince her to put it on, but realizing it wasn't very cold out and a short walk to the car, decided to let it go.

"Oh, no! You're not wearing your coat! Santa doesn't bring presents to little girls who don't wear their coats! You'd better put on your coat if you want Santa to bring you presents!"

Leah stared at her with her mouth open. She doesn't really know who Santa is, so I think she just assumed the lady was a little crazy. Which she might have been. But why try to take the fun out of the season!?
