As for the weekend, Saturday was a day of relaxation + reading. Sunday is a little hazy in my memory, due to the heat + the presence of a super-excited 3-yr-old. I'm pretty sure we trekked into the city with some friends for the (25th Annual) Roots of American Music Festival at Lincoln Center. (This was Leah's first concert, 3 years ago.)

There, a kind + unbelieveably old Pete Seeger performed on a stage with his grandson, framed by trees + a whole passel of hippies. Leah danced her ass off. I remember some walking + lunch, lounging in Central Park. Then some more music back at Lincoln Center, where the girl again danced anywhere she could find a few free inches... there was no stopping her. A few hours later, with a cranky daughter + husband, we skeedaddled back to catch the train before it got too late. Sadly, this meant we missed Patti Smith. Frick. (That, of course, I remember!)
Ommm...

So cool! Love that your girl could feel the music.
An early date of ours (Mr. DoulaMomma & me, but before the Mr. part) was a Pete Seeger concert/sing a long. We love that old music & in fact, our middle kid's middle name is Guthrie!
