12 weeks

So let's see... what does she do now that's new + different? She sucks on her fists noisily, which occupies her time quite nicely and makes her forget to fuss for a while. She's also started to become extremely interested in her surroundings. Leah loves her new butterfly mobile with a passion formerly reserved for the funny pictures hanging over her changing table. She smiles at those pictures like they're old friends each time she goes for a change (which happens close to 200 times a day) and recounts (I can only assume) what's happened during the time she last talked to them. But the butterflies mesmerize her. She stares at them with her mouth open in wonder, speaking in softer tones, perhaps trying to convince them to let her fly under the ceiling with them.

Today, after church, we spent the afternoon with Rob's parents to "celebrate my birthday". (Also known as "good excuse to see the baby".) It was a nice, relaxing afternoon filled with good food, good company, and a walk through the neighborhood, not to mention Leah's first hammock experience. You can see here that she has the right idea!

Golly, Sar, we didn't get an opportunity to formally "celebrate your birthday". We're fairly open right into the Christmas season. You're more than welcome to bring Rob and Leah along, too. :)
