Thirty-one

Birthdays have new meaning for me. This year I feel like all the presents should go to my mother!

Today we slept late (8:30!), had a leisurely breakfast, and opened presents - yay! One of the gifts was a beautiful butterfly mobile, which we promptly hung over Leah's crib. Here it is going for a test drive over our bed - just to make sure she'd like it. Success!

Later we made a quick trip into the city for Rob's present to me - clothes shopping! On the way home we stopped at his office to pick up some gear for the show he planned to record that evening + set off the alarm in the process. We hightailed it down the stairwell w/ the case - Leah's 1st heist!

Rob's mom generously came to babysit early in the evening so we could see/record the band playing in Brooklyn. Unfortunately the show got pushed back several hours, so we went to dinner at Marco & Pepe across the street from our apartment instead. It was lovely - we sat at a table outside (which always makes the food taste better), the weather was perfect, and they brought us glasses of champagne to congratulate us on Leah's birth.

Then we came home to a peacefully sleeping baby. All in all, a very nice birthday. And now, we sleep!
