Three

As of last Thursday, Leah was done with her co-op preschool. It was a great year for both of us. She learned more about herself + her ever-expanding world, and I got some free time to myself a few hours a week. I'd always hoped we could do some alternative schooling, and am very glad to have the experience. However, I think she'll be happier in a more flexible setting that's less peer-based. Leah proved time + again this year that she wasn't interested in following her little crowd, preferring instead to do things her own way, in her own time. Not so very different from her mother...

She's still attending her daycare preschool on Wednesdays, and as of August, she'll be going 3 days/week as I begin working in the city Tues/Wed/Thurs. A little bittersweet, it means she's really growing up and our time together at home is limited, but I cannot wait to get more balance in my life.

Now that the girl is three, it's clear it will be beneficial for both of us to have a break from each other. I believe that the Terrible Twos are another parenting lie... it's really the Terrible Threes! While I search for some tools to deal with this, I will do my best to enjoy this time, as 13 may not be a walk in the park.
